Neyyar dam is a popular tourist destination in Kerala, located at a distance of about 32 km

from Trivandrum, the capital city of the state. The dam was built in the year1958 and is considered to a popular tourist destination of the state along with being an ideal picnic spot.

The blue captivating water of the lake close to this dam also offers boat rides that allow you to explore other scenic sights of the surrounding areas.

There is also an elephant rehabilitation center, located at a distance of just 7 km from this place, which offers a 30 minute joy ride on the back of the elephants with a charge of around Rs 100.

By Rail: The nearest railway station to this dam is Trivandrum Railway Station, which is located at a distance of about 32 km.
