Dream World Amusement Park is a water
themed park, located at a close distance from the renowned Athirappilly
waterfalls. The amusement park is situated at a place called Chalakudy in
Thrissur district and is regarded as one of the most popular destinations among
the tourists in Kerala.
Due to the scenic location of this park close to the
mesmerizing Athirappily waterfalls, the place is visited by tourists almost
throughout the year. At the entrance of the park, you will see huge dragon
gates, which welcomes the visitors to the thrill and enjoyment of this special
place.
The water park has been designed in
such a way that it can be enjoyed by visitors from different ages. One of the
main highlight of this place is that the entire park is covered with lawns and
paving tiles that enable the visitors to roam around comfortably.
The park
features both dry as well as water rides. The Dream World Water Park has a
total of 42 rides, out of which, 24 are water rides and 18 are dry rides. The
management of the park also organizes regular cleaning and maintaining the
hygiene of the pools.
Rides
The most popular types of rides that
can be found in this place are Mat racer, Wave Pool, Stormy River, Space Bowl, Boomerang,
Rain Dance, Lazy River, Aqua Shuttle, Dream Splash, Crazy Cruise, Infant Pool,
Amazone River and Mermaid Pool. Besides the water based and thrilling rides,
you will also find some dry rides at this place, such as Family Swing,
Caterpillar, Striking Car, Dragon Train, Dynamo Hockey, Computer Games, Flying
Columbus, Twister, Kids Multi games and Revolving Barrel.
Facilities Provided
Besides the thrilling and rejuvenating
rides provided by the park, the place also offers free accommodation for the
students and staff who come here. The place also has prayer halls for the
spiritually inclined visitors. Other facilities like changing room and locker
facilities are also provided for the convenience of the visitors.
Moreover, if
you feel hungry while enjoying the rides, you can opt to visit one of the
restaurants located within the park’s premises, as they offer a wide range of
scrumptious variety of dishes. Other basic amenities that have been provided at
this park are rest room, medical facilities, wheel chairs, ice-cream parlors,
food courts and parking areas.
Opening Time: The amusement park is open
from 10.30 am to 6 pm during weekdays and from 10.30 am to 7 pm during
weekends.
Entry Fee: The amusement park charges
Rs 350 per head for adults, Rs 250 per head for children below 4.5 ft and Rs
200 per head for senior citizens.

Visit
The best time to visit the park is
during the months of October to March.

How to Reach
By Air: The nearest airport to the
water park is Cochin International Airport, located at a distance of about 31
km. The airport conducts regular flights to various major places in the country
and other major international cities. Regular local and hired taxis are
available from the airport to the place.
By Train: The nearest railway station
to the water park is Chalakkudy, located at a distance of about 39 km. The
station is well linked with various major parts in South India. Tourists will
get bus and taxi services from the station to get to the water park.
By Road: The water park is easily
accessible by road from Thrissur. Regular bus and taxi services are available
from Thrissur and other parts in Kerala to the Dream World Water Park.
