Along the way to the Brahmagiri hill station, one has to trek through grasslands and shola, as the evergreen grasslands form the major part of this area. You can trek up to this hill, starting from a trekking point located at a distance of around 9km from Iruppu Falls. You can also trek to this hill through a path which leads upwards from the Tlakacauvery Temple, at a distance of around 45 km from Madikeri.

Abbey Falls
The falls is placed at a distance of around 9 km form Madikeri, in Coorg, Karnataka, which offers a spectacular view, making it a popular spot among the tourists. The beautiful surroundings of this fall also make it a renowned picnic spot. The beautiful sight of the enthralling water falling down from a height amid the scenic coffee plantation turns the place into a paradise. During the monsoon season, this waterfall swells hugely and the gushing of its water can be heard from a distance, even before reaching the spot of the falls.
Kaveri River
Another major attraction around the Brahmagiri hill station is the Kaveri River. The commencement point of this river is situated at Talakaveri, Kodagu in the Western Ghats in Karnataka. It flows generally in east and south in the state of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and has supported agriculture for centuries, serving as a means of livelihood for the ancient kingdoms and the modern cities of South India.
Iruppu Falls
The falls is located in the Brahmagiri Range, in the Kodagu district of Karnataka. It is also known as the Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, which is taken from the name of the tributary of Cauvery River that initiates from this falls, the Lakshmana Tirtha River. Iruppu Falls is apopular tourist destination and also a famed pilgrimage centre, as the renowned Rameshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, is situated in between the route to this falls. The temple drives hundreds of pilgrims during the festival of Shivaratri.

The best time to trek to the hill of Brahmagiri is during the months of December to February. Before initiating the trek, one should take permission from the Thirunelli Forest Range Officer and Srimangala Forest Range Officer.
How to Reach
The nearest railway station to Brahmagiri hill station is Mysore, which is at a distance of around 100 km. Frequent bus services to this place are available from Kodagu and nearby cities of Karnataka like Mysore and Mangalore.
